Pairing/controlling multiple lamps
To the Calex SMART Wall Switch and Dimmer you can pair multiple SMART lamps (up to 15). First pair all the lamps with the Calex app, otherwise they will not have Wifi Signal. After the lamps are connected to the app, the Wall Switch and Dimmer can be connected to the lamps (see step-by-step instructions below) and you basically don't need the Calex app anymore. You do need to leave the Calex app (with the lamps) on your smartphone.
Please note: When you pair multiple lamps with the Wall Switch and Dimmer, they are dimmed as a whole. It is not possible to dim lamps individually via the remote control. However, this can be done via the Calex app. If you want to control several groups/lamps independently, we recommend purchasing an additional Wall Switch and Dimmer.
Which Calex products work with the remote control?
The remote works with the following items:
- Calex SMART Lamps
- Calex SMART Plugs and Sockets
However, it is not possible to control these 2 different groups of products with the same remote control. With the Calex SMART remote control you can operate either SMART bulbs or SMART plugs. If you wish to control both plugs and lamps we recommend purchasing a second remote control.
Lamp installation step-by-step plan
First pair all lamps with the Calex app, otherwise they won't have a Wifi Signal. The remote control itself is not visible in the app.
Pairing:
Make sure the lamps or power plugs are on and receive a good Wi-Fi signal. This is the only way to connect the lamps to the remote control.
1. Make sure the smart device is connected to the Calex app.
2. Switch the power of the smart device OFF and ON again (by interrupting the power) to put it into learning mode.
3. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the ON button of the smart Wall Switch for 5-7 seconds until the indicator flashes 3x
4. Wait until the smart device flashes 1x.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 to pair more smart devices
- Lamps can be incrementally adjusted in brightness in 20% increments.
- You can link a lamp or plug to up to five remote controls.
- You can pair multiple lamps and plugs at the same time if the device is in learning mode.
To disconnect:
Press the ON button of the Smart Wall Switch for 5 seconds until the indicator flashes. The Smart Wall Switch is then disconnected. If you have connected the Smart Wall Switch to several lamps and/or power plugs, they will all be disconnected. If you only want to disconnect one lamp or power plug, make sure that the other lamps and power plugs are completely switched off by interrupting their power supply.
